More Room for the Experiment
Distilling is part chemistry and part craft. Heat moves into the wash, vapor separates out, and copper carries it to the condenser. Your job is to watch, taste, adjust, and make the cuts. The 10 Gallon Advanced Model Complete Copper Moonshine Still gives you room to try things. You can test a new heat setting, compare cuts across a run, and learn what your still likes.
Built by Hand, in Copper
Our family shop in New Hampshire builds this still by hand. We use copper because it carries heat well and has been the distiller's metal for generations. It's also a material you can feel good about owning: solid, handsome, and made to be used.
Thinking in Heads, Hearts, and Tails
A good distiller learns to read a run. The first part to come off is set aside. The middle is where the character lives, and the end gets separated out too. A 10 gallon pot gives you enough volume to see those shifts clearly and to practice making clean, confident cuts. Many people keep notes on every run and treat each batch like a lab result.
What You Can Distill
- Distilled water
- Essential oils from herbs and flowers
- Fuel alcohol, with the required permit
Owning a still is legal in the US. Making spirits requires federal TTB permits, and you must follow federal, state, and local law.
Part of a Bigger Lineup
