A Small Lab Made of Copper
Every run on a still is an experiment. You set the heat, watch the vapor rise, and decide where the good part of the run starts and stops. The 6 Gallon Complete Copper Moonshine Still with Thumper and Worm gives you a compact place to run those experiments. Our family shop in New Hampshire builds it by hand from copper.
Why the Thumper and Worm Matter
The thumper sits between the pot and the condenser. Vapor bubbles through it and gets a second pass before it moves on. Old-time distillers have used this trick for generations. The worm is the coiled condenser, where hot vapor cools and turns back into liquid. Add the pot and you have the classic three-piece layout most people imagine when they think of a copper still. Here it comes as one complete set.
Why Copper
Copper moves heat well, and distillers have trusted it for centuries. It's also a pleasure to look at. It's the kind of piece you'll want to keep polished and on display between runs.
Is 6 Gallons Right for You?
This is the smallest still in this lineup. It's a good fit if you want to learn the craft at a size that's easy to manage. You can distill water, pull essential oils from your garden, or make fuel alcohol with the proper permit. If you want bigger batches, look at our 10, 15, 20, and 25 gallon models. Moonshine Stills also carries DIY kits, electric stills, and flame-flow stills.
Owning a still is legal in the US, but distilling alcohol requires federal TTB permits. Please follow all federal, state, and local laws.
