Some people want a still. Others want to understand one down to the last seam. The 15 Gallon You-Build EZ Kit is for the second group. You put it together yourself. By the time you're ready for a first run, you know how the copper, the cap, and the ports fit together, and why they're there.
Your first lab, built by your own hands
Every run on a copper pot still is a small experiment. You control the heat. Vapor rises off the pot, travels through the copper, and condenses back into liquid. Then you decide where the cuts fall. Building the still yourself makes all of that easier to read, because you already know the path the vapor takes.
This is the Advanced Model. Two features in its name are worth knowing about:
- EZ Seal Cap: a cap built around an easy seal at the top of the pot.
- 4 inch thumper port: a ready place to connect a thumper when you want to take your process further.
Why 15 gallons
Fifteen gallons is a good size to learn on. It holds enough to give you real results, and it's still small enough that you can try things and adjust without running a big rig. You build it, you learn it, and then you start refining. The kit starts at $629.
Use it the legal way
Owning a still is legal in the US. A copper still like this one can distill water or extract essential oils. Distilling alcohol of any kind, fuel alcohol included, requires federal permits from the TTB. Always follow federal, state, and local law.
