Copper has been the still-maker's metal for generations, and with good reason. It carries heat well, it's easy to work, and distillers have long valued the way it handles vapor. The 20 Gallon EZ Kit puts that old material into your hands as a kit, so you can see how it all works from the inside.
Where the alchemy happens
Think of a still as a controlled experiment. The wash in the pot is your starting material and the burner or heat source is your variable. The copper path is your apparatus. Small changes in heat change how the vapor moves, and the cuts you make decide what you keep. Running a still well means watching closely, writing things down, and adjusting next time. That's what a scientist does.
Built for the next step
The Advanced Model has two features that matter once you get serious:
- EZ Seal Cap: designed to make sealing the top of the pot simple.
- 4 inch thumper port: lets you connect a thumper and add another stage to your setup.
At 20 gallons, this kit gives you more room than a starter size without jumping to a large rig. If you've already done some reading or a few runs and want more capacity, this is a good fit. The kit starts at $649.
Know the rules
Owning a still in the US is legal. Distilling alcohol, including fuel alcohol, requires federal TTB permits. Without a permit, put your still to work on distilled water or essential oils. Follow federal, state, and local law.
