Fifteen gallons is a serious batch. This size is for people who know the basics and want enough volume to study a run from start to finish.
A bigger run teaches more
Distillation happens in stages. The first vapor, the middle of the run, and the end all behave differently. Learning to separate them, called making your cuts, is the core skill. With more in the pot, each stage lasts longer. That gives you more time to watch temperatures, collect in small jars, and compare. Treat every run like a page in a lab notebook.
Copper and 220V electric heat
The 15 gallon Advanced Model combines copper with 220V electric heat. Copper is the classic still metal for good reason: it conducts heat well and interacts with the vapor. Electric heat removes the open flame and lets you control the run by controlling power. Make sure you have a suitable 220V circuit before you set up.
