Some people want a still. Others want to build one. The EZ Kit Bare is for builders who would rather pick up a torch than buy a finished still. We do the hard work on the copper at our shop. Then we hand the rest of the job to you.
What arrives
- Formed copper body components, pre-cut and shaped into cylinders. This is not flat stock.
- Copper pipe and tubing
That's all. You get copper and pipe, ready to clamp and solder, and nothing else.
What you supply
- Solder and flux
- Clamps, tools, and a torch
- Gaskets, seals, gauges, and accessories
- All fittings, including a temperature gauge
Is this kit right for you?
It is if you're comfortable soldering copper, you want the biggest savings, or you're planning a custom setup of your own. You make every joint and choose every fitting. That's the alchemist's part of the craft: you decide how heat, copper, and vapor come together.
It isn't if you expect a finished or partly finished distiller, you've never soldered, or you want something ready to use out of the box. For that, look at our complete electric stills instead.

Owning a still is legal in the US. People use them for water, essential oils, and fuel alcohol (with a permit). Distilling spirits requires a federal TTB permit. Always follow federal, state, and local law.
